Takashi Ishii’s ANGEL GUTS: RED FLASH is a 90s pinku film that feels more like a giallo thanks to Ishii’s unrestrained lens. The subject matter is definitely hard to watch, but the way the themes are explored visually is kinda genius. Replacing allure with dread and bleak despair
