Korean literature and language at Kyungpuk National University.
Assistant Director and screenwriter of 'To the Starry Island(1993)'.
Script writer of 'The Single Spark'. 'Green Fish' was his first
feature film and since then he has become one of the most critically
acclaimed directors of the Korean new wave and is fast becoming
one of the top foreign directors in the world.
